How it works
- Register. Install the BB84 Wallet, then sign up on the merchant portal with the address from the app and an Ethereum payout address (your wallet or an exchange deposit address).
- Get activated. After approval, your merchant address and payout address are activated on-chain after a fixed 24-hour waiting period.
- Get paid. Customers scan your QR code or open your payment link. Each payment carries a purpose (for example an order number), so you know which order it belongs to.
- Pay out. Keep the balance in the app or pay out to your Ethereum address in about 2 hours.

- Your customers need the BB84 app. It is available for iOS. BB84 works best as an additional payment method next to cards, for customers who already hold USDC or EURC.
- Payments are final. Refunds are sent by you from the BB84 app. Customers can open a buyer protection case with BB84 support.
- Non-custodial plugins. The website widget and the WooCommerce plugin never hold funds or keys; the money goes straight to your merchant address.

What does BB84 cost for merchants?
0.5% of each payment you receive as a merchant. There is no fixed fee per transaction, no monthly fee and no setup fee. Your customers pay no network fee for payments to registered merchants.
How fast do I get my money?
The payment is in your BB84 merchant account within seconds. Once your merchant account is activated, payouts to your own Ethereum address arrive after about 2 hours instead of the usual 7 days.
Which currencies can I accept?
USDC (US dollar) and EURC (euro), the regulated stablecoins issued by Circle. Orders in USD are paid in USDC, orders in EUR in EURC, 1:1.
What do my customers need?
The BB84 Wallet for iOS with a USDC or EURC balance. They scan your QR code or tap your payment link, and the amount and purpose are filled in automatically.
Are there chargebacks?
No card chargebacks: payments settle on-chain and cannot be pulled back by a card network. Customers who have a problem with an order can open a buyer protection case with BB84 support, and you can refund them from your BB84 app.
Why is it called post-quantum?
BB84 is an Ethereum Layer 2 that authorizes transactions with hash chains instead of ECDSA signatures, which a future quantum computer could break. Details are in the developer docs.
